Meaningful work

Independence Blue Cross (IBX) is committed to providing relevant and meaningful work experiences for our early career talent professionals. Assignments are project-based, and participants work closely with our full-time associates to support important business initiatives. These experiences allow the participants to apply their classroom knowledge and gain real-world experience in their chosen field of study.

Professional development

IBX believes in the development of the whole person, and our early career programs reflect that belief in action. During the assignment, participants will attend professional development courses on topics such as building meaningful connections, managing their personal brand, building and delivering powerful presentations, and more.

Guest speakers are invited to present timely and relevant information on various topics.

Volunteerism

At IBX, improving the health and well-being of our community is just as important as improving the health and wellness of our members. Program participants will volunteer with the Blue Crew Corporate Volunteer Program, which is a comprehensive outreach program that serves as an extension of the company’s social mission. The volunteer program’s mission is to strengthen the company’s role as a leader in community service through service projects that contribute to the well-being of the people in our region.

Evaluation and feedback

Program participants and managers will meet regularly to share feedback to reinforce strengths and discuss opportunities for learning and professional growth. Throughout the program, participants are asked to provide feedback about their experience. The input is used to develop improvements for the following year.

Work for credit

If a student requires an assignment for credit, we work with the university to ensure that the responsibilities and work experience outlined in the position meet the required criteria set by the university.
